Failure Is Not Fatal

Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”

We all have bad days. Down days. Chicken Little days when we feel like the sky is falling. Days when we lose our focus, our strength, and even our passion. Thankfully this is all temporary.

Instead of letting those days sink in, take over and become more discouraging to the point of depression, shake it off.

Sometimes you have to put a smile on your face, throw your shoulders back, hold yourself up from your core and start focusing on your goals and move on, forward and up!

No matter what life hands you … you only have two options. Give up or keep going. If you give, the story is over and we all know what happens … nothing. Which makes for a lousy book.

You are a better writer than that. You are writing your story! Choose to ‘keep going’ with passion and enthusiasm. Give us a story ending with a dynamic twist!

Consider the following three questions to keeping you focused, unstuck and going:

  1. What feelings are you focusing on?
  2. Are you being honest with yourself, or making excuses?
  3. What do you need to change to be able to move forward?

Until next time, Live Bold and Be Di’namic!

It’s your turn. What do you think? Have you had a Chicken Little day recently? How did you recover from it?

The Moment of Decision

Ep 9

Teddy Roosevelt said, In a moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing to do. The worst thing you can do is nothing.

Decisions have to be made. Life is full of them. If however, your decision is to make no decision and let the cards fall where they may, that is a decision. Roosevelt said, “the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Actually, the worst thing we can do is let anger control our choices. A snap judgement made on a temporary emotion can be very damaging.

When angry, practice remaining silent, and when possible think about a resolution overnight before declaring your opinion. This can be very helpful in assisting you to a higher level of calm before engaging. Does that make sense?

Remaining silent allows you to hear your inner voice, your conscience. Waiting overnight keeps you from compromising and saying something without thinking it through. Or making a call that could be wrong. And, one that you might regret.

Learn to associate with like minded people. Stay positive, and positive will be reflected back to you. Live with integrity and those around you will show you integrity. By doing these things, making the right decisions becomes easier.

Consider the following 3 questions before making a difficult decision:

  1. Is you judgement clouded? Are you letting greed, jealousy or blind devotion make your decision for you?
  2. Have you consider all the options available at this time? Sometimes we want to move forward so quickly that we take the first decision as the best decision.
  3. What does you heart say? Trust your instincts. You are the one who knows what you truly want. You have the vision. Don’t let someone else make your decision for you.

Until next time, Live Bold and Be Di’namic!

It’s your turn. What do you think? Are you making sound decisions in your life? Is your life filled with integrity?
