Failure Is Not Fatal

Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”

We all have bad days. Down days. Chicken Little days when we feel like the sky is falling. Days when we lose our focus, our strength, and even our passion. Thankfully this is all temporary.

Instead of letting those days sink in, take over and become more discouraging to the point of depression, shake it off.

Sometimes you have to put a smile on your face, throw your shoulders back, hold yourself up from your core and start focusing on your goals and move on, forward and up!

No matter what life hands you … you only have two options. Give up or keep going. If you give, the story is over and we all know what happens … nothing. Which makes for a lousy book.

You are a better writer than that. You are writing your story! Choose to ‘keep going’ with passion and enthusiasm. Give us a story ending with a dynamic twist!

Consider the following three questions to keeping you focused, unstuck and going:

  1. What feelings are you focusing on?
  2. Are you being honest with yourself, or making excuses?
  3. What do you need to change to be able to move forward?

Until next time, Live Bold and Be Di’namic!

It’s your turn. What do you think? Have you had a Chicken Little day recently? How did you recover from it?

Develop Clarity of Vision for Your Goals

Do you have a clear vision for what you want to accomplish in the next 3 years? You must define success for yourself. It looks and feels different to everyone. Is it money? Is it travel? A new title at work? Or maybe you’d like to open your own business?

Don’t let anyone define it for you. It’s your life and your passion. The taste of success is much sweeter when you define it for yourself.

Next step, create a plan of action. The only problems that happen and resolve themselves in 30 minutes happen in sitcoms. While laughter is great medicine and I suggest it, you need a plan of action that breaks your goals into baby steps.

Doable actions so you don’t overwhelm yourself to the point of throwing up your hands and quitting. Trust me, reaching your goals will take more than 30 minutes.

Create a plan of reachable and doable strategies for each goal. Remember … Baby steps. Don’t overwhelm yourself. And when you reach and complete a goal …CELEBRATE. Celebrating your successes along the way helps you mark your progress.

Need more reasons to celebrate? Ok, 3 more reasons to celebrate your successes:

  • Celebrate so you know your hard work is paying off.
  • Celebrate because it builds momentum and excitement.
  • Celebrate because more excitement creates more progress creating more success.

Now, when you have good news to share, share it. Tell someone you know that will celebrate with you and lift you up with positive energy.

Not negative people that will suck the positive energy out of you. Negative people don’t believe in themselves, they’ll pop your bubble. Share and celebrate with only the optimistic people in your life. And if you’re saying to yourself right now you don’t have any optimistic people in your life, you need new friends immediately!

The takeaway for today:

  • Create a plan of action
  • Take reachable and doable baby steps consistently
  • Celebrate success along the way building momentum, excitement and progress
  • Then REPEAT and keep repeating!

Until next time, Be Bold. Be Di’namic!

It’s your turn. What do you think? Do you have an action plan broken down in baby steps to reach your goal[s]? Are you celebrating your successes? If not, why not?

One Key to Success is Your Attitude

Zig Ziglar told us, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.”

One important key to our success is our attitude. A positive attitude is more important than our past successes or failures, more important than our education, and even more important than our present circumstances.

The most remarkable thing about attitude is that we are in total control of it and because of that – we can change it at will.

Just like Pharrell Williams tells us in his song Happy, “I should probably warn you, I’ll be just fine, don’t waste your time, Because I’m happy …”

… We can be as cheerful and as positive as we chose to be … of course the opposite is true. You can also chose to be sour or negative.

Think of it like this … your attitude is not only your perspective of the world, it’s also the worlds perspective of you.

So, how is everyone seeing you today? It’s not to late to chose …

Go Bold. Be Di’namic!
