It’s The Right Time

We’ve heard people say, “It’s the right idea, but the wrong time.” Or maybe, “I was in the right place at the wrong time.”

As the years tick by I realize there is more to it than being in the right place at the right time. Yes, that helps. I’m not going to tell you it doesn’t, but there is more.

A combination of passion, dedication, hard work and an unstoppable attitude is also needed. And, Johnny Carson added something else to the mix that is very important. He said, “Talent alone won’t make you a success. Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready. The most important question is: ‘Are your ready?’

You caught it right, the big question:  ‘Are your ready?’

Sometimes there is no next time. No second or third chance. No time out, or let’s start again. Sometimes it’s simple now or never. It might not appear to be the right time, but it’s the only time! Time for you to take action to make your dreams a reality.

Stop and consider all the unachieved goals and dreams that are buried within all the cemeteries across the nation [worldwide]. From individuals just like you and I who thought that the day wasn’t the right time or the right place.

You have the passion, dedication, hard work and an unstoppable attitude or you wouldn’t be watching this video or read this text. So, ‘Are your ready?’

It’s your turn. What do you think? There is no time like the present. Are you ready?

The Passion Within

For those living their passion, you already understand the “why.”  However, if you haven’t found your passion, it’s hard to know what you’re missing. You might feel a void, but not understand the void.

Our passions are what propel us forward. Without the winds of desire we wouldn’t move forward and without a plan we’d be lost.

It’s your turn. What do you think. Leave us your thoughts below.

Play Kindles Creativity

noun: creativity

the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.

We all dream of being more creative. Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.”

If I had a dollar for every time someone said to me, “You are so creative,” I’d be a millionaire multiple times over. I am so blessed. Or am I?

What I know is this, first, I’m grateful. Second, I’m a kid at heart. I love play. My office is littered with toys and color makes me vibrate.

As an adult, I was tossed out of Toys “R” Us. Why? For running up and down an isle as fast as I could turning on all the electronic toys. No, I wasn’t with a child. But, I was playing, and looking for inspiration.

I have a huge collection of Happy Meal toys. Most were gifts from friends who know I collect them. At Christmas half my gifts are toys and my stocking is stuffed with collectibles! I am still one of the first in the room to get excite over a commercial for a new animated feature film. Love Pixar! I’m not ashamed to tell you that Batman is my hero and has been since I was old enough to pin my baby blanket to my shoulders as my cape. [I still have that baby blanket cape.] And of course, Joker is my favorite villain.

I grew up laughing, playing, drawing and reading! I could go on but really at this point you get the idea.

So, I am blessed, but I am also very playful at heart. I encourage you to open up and release your inner child. You’ll be happier and I’m confident you’ll be more creative too.

Here Are 6 Reasons To Release Your Inner Child And Kindle Your Creativity:

  • Creativity can reinvent your life.
  • Creativity can reinvent your company.
  • Creativity can change your world and life for the better.
  • The more creative ideas you have the more solutions you have.
  • Creative ideas give you choice and opportunities.
  • Creative ideas generate new perspectives, and creating beginnings.

The following YouTube video is John Cleese on Creativity. It’s 36 minutes of genius. Cleese validates that play leads to creativity. He states, “Creativity is not a talent. It is not a talent, it is a way of operating.” In the video he explains closed vs open modes of thinking.

“Closed mode” is the mode we are in most of the time at work. It’s active, slightly anxious, probably a little impatient, a little tension, not much humor. It’s a mode in which we’re very purposeful, and we can get very stressed, but not creative.

The “open mode,” is relaxed, expansive, more contemplative, inclined to be filled with humor, a wider perspective, more playful. It’s a mode in which curiosity for its own sake can operate because there is no pressure to get anything done quickly. “Open” leads to creativity through play.

For those of you who don’t know, John Cleese is an English actor, comedian, writer and film producer. He achieved success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and as a scriptwriter and performer on The Frost Report. He might be the most famous for his work with the comedy group Monty Python, and for the popular British television series Fawlty Towers.

It’s your turn. What do you think? Are you creative? Do you find yourself in the “closed mode” or “open mode” more often? How do you play? Have you found your Holy Grail?

Business Affirmations and Why We Need Them

Affirmations are the practice of positive self talk. An affirmation is a positive statement that is repeated to one’s self to replace a negative statement.

Many of us spend our business day allowing our mind to replay negative self talk. We’ve grown complacent and allow our minds to churn out thoughts own their own. We are no longer in control of our most powerful business tool, our minds. These negative statements have harmful business and life results.

You don’t have room for negative self talk to fill up your mind and fog your business vision, keeping you from your dreams and goals.

Negative self talk sounds like this:

  • I’m not worthy.
  • I’m not good enough.
  • I can’t do this.
  • I will never accomplish this.

Using positive self talk to replace those negative statements is a way of rewiring your brain! Now is the time to take back control. The thoughts we think today create our present and future. If you want real change it starts with your thoughts, now.

You need a plan.

First, you must become more aware of your self talk. Be conscious of your thoughts and when you catch yourself saying negative things, simple hit ‘delete’ and replace it immediately with a positive statement.

Self Talk: “I will never accomplish this.”

Responding to Self Talk: “Delete that thought. I will accomplish this and much more!”

These are your thoughts. No one hears them but you. You’re in control. Isn’t it time to make them work for you and your business instead of against you?

Tell yourself today, your done with the negative perception and you’re looking for a positive spin on everything. When you greet the morning before you speak to anyone have several morning affirmations that you speak to yourself like:

  • I trust myself.
  • I am smart.
  • Every day, in every way, I am becoming better and better.
  • I am willing to step out of my comfort zone to grow.
  • I can and will do this.
  • Life is good.
  • I am more than capable of bringing all my dreams to fruition.

Take a deep breath, exhale, and take the day by storm!

Be sure to find ways to fill your mind with positive thoughts. Read self-empowerment material, books, blogs, listen to CDs, watch YouTube video’s, attend seminars, emerge yourself in positivity.

You must practice it every minute of every day, in someway. I’ve done this since I was 12, positive thoughts are a way of life for me. I admit, I have negative self talk slips on occasion, but I use my ‘delete’ button and I’m right back on track. If I can do this, so can you.

Retro: The Sharp Wizard Organizer

Today is Retro Thursday and I decided to do a post on a piece of electronics that the iPhone [smartphone] has replaced. I started my research and stumbled on The Sharp Wizard Organizer from 1989.

I started digging on YouTube for commercials unfortunately, I couldn’t find one dedicated to just The Sharp Wizard, but I did find this little charmer. The Wizard segment is 18 seconds in:

I also found this video by Chris Pirelli. He did all my heavy lifting for me today. He covers everything there is to know about the device. He doesn’t compare it to a smartphone but after listening to his video, we all know our phones out perform The Wizard. LOL!

Chris is a very funny guy. If you have never watched any of his video’s or you’re not familiar with him, today is your lucky day. You’ll get a blast from the past and a new found treasure in Chris Pirelli. Enjoy!

It’s your turn. What do you think? It had apps and memory and connected to your PC … did you have one? Were you a geek in 1989? Does in make you laugh or bring a smile to your face because of a memory?
